    Hi Luka,

Saw your show for the first time at National Theatre in March 2013 – loved it and got to meet you as well. Please come down again soon – don’t make us wait 2 years OK? :)

Been trying to hunt down some of your older material locally – “Man is Alive” live CD and “Eleven Songs” Bonus Tracks – but with no luck. Please make these available on your Music Shop!

    Take care,
    Joyce

    Hello Luka,
Sorry to hear your concert in Florida was cancelled. We had been looking forward to it. Would perhaps there be a chance that you are coming to the States in 2014 or must we chase you across the Atlantic? We are trying to determine if we need a plane, train. or new tires on the bike to see a concert performance– thanks for your music and hope this note finds you well

  • nyerish March 9, 2013

When are you coming to NY?

  • Lisa March 7, 2013

    Dear Luka,
I played your song ‘Salt Water’ at my dad’s funeral 7 months ago as your beautiful song really sounded like it was meant for him. So many people asked me who sang it and I have put them onto your music, including my mum who wants to go see you when you come our way in April to the Byron Bay Blues Festival. The reason I wanted to contact you is that the council here let us have a seat for our dad at our local beach where he met my mum and where his ashes are now. I really hope you don’t mind but on the seat, we put your words “I worship the sun, I worship the sea, salt water washes over me “. As you are coming to Byron Bay, I would like to invite you to come and visit my dad’s seat. Thank you,
    Lisa Sharpe.

Hi Luka, Can’t wait for your Melbourne show. Any chance of dusting off an oldie and singing “This is Your Country” as part of your set? Looking forward to seeing you and hearing your new material, too. From an ex-pat Bostonian, former Waterfordian, now Down Under (not as a “lifestyle choice”). :-)

  • Katrin February 16, 2013

    Get well!

  • Katrin January 17, 2013

By any chance, Luka, is it possible to learn if there will be any gigs taking place in Ireland – or better: withing walking distance from Hamburg- before you are off to Australia? Not that you don’t deserve a break… just asking and a reply is very much appreciated. Thank you!

    Hej Luka,
I shuffled a little Luka song calendar:
    January: Bridge of sorrow
    February: First light of spring
    March: Diamond Mountain
April: Love is a place…, How am I to be
    May: Delirious, Camomile
    June: June, Here and now
    July: Blackberry time, Monsoon
    August: Primavera, Across the Breeze
    September: Wassertage, Exploring the blue
    October: Ciara
    November: Be still now, Sunday
    December: Cold Comfort, Innocence
(Well, not all my favorite Luka songs fit in this and it’s more a seasonal reflection than a perspective – maybe I can improve it in 2013.)
THIS NEW MORNING has been my constant companion over the last month and I love this mature collage of deliberate song ideas. As I prefer the poetic dreamy ones ‘How am I to be’ and ‘Capture a dream’ are the ones I always pick out first when the CD is on but also ‘The race runs me’ has a brilliant song idea and ‘ The Ride’ carries you like a fresh summer breeze. Each song has a mission and is worth a little bow.
In a book I’m reading, it’s said: ‘Of all the thousands of experiences we make, only a few find their words. But all the speechless hidden ones are those which unnoticed give our life the shape, the colour and the melody’. (The translation is presumably horrible, sorry.) Good songs sometimes have the key to these secret experiences.

All my best wishes and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to you Luka and all the people around you who help to bring your music to the world.
If there’s anybody in Northern Germany, who’s keen to start a choir with Luka songs please write to lennja@gmx.de (No I’m not on facebook)

    Luka,

I’ve recently taken up playing the guitar. Heart man is such an amazing song, and I would love to learn how to play it. Having a tough time finding the chords on line. Can someone send them to me?

    Thanks, and merry xmas. Chris

  • see you soon November 26, 2012

Had my hopes up for Whelan’s but seems Tilburg was my last gig this year :( It was nice speaking to you even briefly (hope you’ll enjoy the read ;-) Sad I had to give The Hague and Dancing Queen a miss ;) but ordered Keeper of the flame this morning. Can’t wait another 10 years, can I ?
Did you notice the Irish community in Geneva was absolutely delighted to have you there? and so was I! It was one fantastic gig! It would be great if you played Geneva more often as that’s one place in easy reach for me :-)
Thanks again for the magic Luka!

  • addo1945 November 25, 2012

  • inabigcountry November 24, 2012

Amazing performance beating performances we have seen @Roepaen and Eindhoven 2010-2012. De Nieuwe Nor is a small square venue. Appr. 250 people sold out. Songs were awesome and a climax was built so it was a flow to the end! Brilliant!

  • Wil Groningen November 17, 2012

It was the first time I saw and heard you live. It was a very special experience!
Fine music, great guitarplay, humorous and yet serous talk. I enjoyed your concert so much! Your positive, charming energy and humor still accompany me. Thank you!

  • hmelzerman November 15, 2012

thanks for being such a joyful soulshining artist, I know your name means shining light, that´s exactly what you did this night in Zwolle (the way you pronounced `Zwolle` is addictive, as is yout pronounciation of the word `love`). Bless!

  • gisela November 15, 2012

    Luka,

I asked you if you made a music for the hugging Amma….listen to your new morning is an experience of being hugging, a heart open….flow of love and kindness
    Thank you for your music!

  • Scots Pine November 4, 2012

Luka, thanks for this opportunity to acknowledge the mighty talent that you share with listeners and viewers. A Seed Was Sown is a crowning meditation in a career studded with some gems of reflection over the years. I’m proud to say I shed a tear with you last night as I watched you perform on the Late Late. It reminded me of another Mary and Elizabeth encounter / visitation 2,000 years ago. There must be another layer of symbolism to be explored here. God bless you for opening our hearts and minds.

  • smilegirl November 3, 2012

    Dear Luka
We met in Rubigen at Mühle Hunziken at the concert of Patent Ochsner. We are sorry that we haven’t know you! Naturally we’re going home and go hear the music from you at YouTube. Many of our collegues have known you and were suprised that we haven’t take an autograph or sign from you…ooops..We would like to hear a concert of you if you’re in Switzerland again. We hope that you come back to Rubigen at Mühle Hunziken! One of the best locations in Switzerland! Thanks again for the drink!!
Best regards from the couple who’s expecting a Baby

  • Geri-B November 3, 2012

I meant A Sees Was Sown – as opposed to Jewel in the Crown! :)

  • Geri-B November 3, 2012

Luka, your performance of Jewel in the Crown last night on tv was outstanding. Years of pain and history put into a song that is so perfect. I have loved you and your music since I was a teenager … turned 40 last month and I cant tell you how much your music still means to me. I feel so good when I pull up a song like Sunny Sailor Boy … or just bounce around the room to Delerious … I have seen you live outdoors and at small intimate gigs like the Sirius Arts Centre … you always always play a blinder. Keep it coming Luka – pure magic :o)

  • Shanti77 October 18, 2012

You’re salt of the earth Luka Bloom! Your Tuesday night concert made my week, I’ve been beaming since then =) Thank you for your beautiful music and your humour. You are an inspiration to all, no wonder the Dalai Lama wanted you with him !!

You really are a true Heart man! <3

Hope you come again to Geneva.

  • JimR October 17, 2012

It was a privilege to see you play live last night at the GLAS show. I’ve been a fan for 22 years and this is the first time I’ve seen you live. Needless to say my expectations were HUGE and you didn’t let down. It was amazing. And on a borrowed guitar, no less! If you bring that much energy and passion to all your shows, well, I’m not quite sure how you do it.

Thanks for the music, Luka! And please come back to Geneva!!!!!

  • Kristian October 11, 2012

    Hello Luka!

See you nest time in Kiel, Kristian

  • Elvi October 2, 2012

Hej Luka, what a pity that you’ll never know what a big pleasure it is sitting in the darkness of an auditorium listening and singing with a bunch of Luka fans in excitement, expectation, veneration.
Thank you so much for a touching I’ll be beside you right beside me in baroque & roll Münster and for the full moon Luka power in Worpswede. Have a great time in Switzerland — Köniz is such beautiful rustic venue …wish I could go there again. XXL love Elvi

Now I finally have the time to thank you (and of course as well the other musicians) for two wonderful evenings in O’Connors Pub in Doolin on the 30th & 31st July this year. The music sessions were great, and I especially liked your songs. I really enjoyed finding out afterwards how famous you are (have to admit I didn’t know you before) and I also liked to recognize you’re giving a concert on the 21st of September in Köln/Cologne. That’s were we live & we will be at your concert this friday :-).
Like promised in the pub I’ve just sent an e-mail to info@lukabloom.com with some pictures and video/music files from this 2 evenings in Doolin.

Really looking forward to your concert tomorrow in Köln & I hope you’re going to sing “Chicago”. I was already thrilled by that song when I heard you singing it the first time in the Pub.

    Greetings
    Maren

  • Debbie July 24, 2012

Thanks so much for a wonderful night at Moore Abbey; gorgeous setting, lovely people and of course you! I drove back to Belfast with Eleven Songs and This New Morning continuing to feed my soul. Going solo means nobody else has to listen to my singing but me, and in my head, I’m great! ‘Thanks for bringing me there’…and ‘See You Soon’ xx

  • Kimyers July 22, 2012

Luka if you read these posts. Knowing just a little bit with your poet lyrics and musician spirit, it would naught likely be in the front of your mind of how you affect your listeners. As naught it should be, and there is the gift.

  • Kimyers July 21, 2012

Like Rickrood asked, Luka–please do come to the states soon. We need you!. Luka I’ve never seen you live but your music got me through my dad’s death 17 years ago. Love your sound with Liam O’Maonlai, can’t wait to hear with Glen Hesgaard. Want so much to bathe in a live performance. (hey Rickrood I’m from CA too, Southern, but living in the Midwest right now).

  • rickrood July 18, 2012

Don’t know why I was thinking of you today… but happy I did. Hope you can come to the US sometime soon… would love to see you live!

  • zande June 24, 2012

    Dear Luka,

Came back from Moscow where as a self-chosen task at the end of a working day I wanted to find a Bicycle shirt with cyrillic writing. I was disappointed that I had to come home without one. I switched on my radio when taking the train home from schiphol. Your two songs in Met het Oog with Thijs and especially the one “Think I will go on a ride” resonated greatly and made me feel great to be back: a weekend ahead fors some bikerides,.

    Great song, thanks,

Wim van der Zande (>50 and still an enthousiastic biccyle rider!)

  • Gert Roos June 24, 2012

    Hi Luka,

What a wonderful gig @ the Peoples Republic of Walhalla yesterday in Rotterdam … It’s such a nice venue … Also loved you soundcheck with Fred -) … and please next time call Ringo, because i love this little drummer-boy … By the way: You surprised me with your threesome “Exploring the blue / Pablo / Rescue mission” … and I bet Ireland and The Netherlands will meet again in 2014 … with you and me still being on the right side of life … Oh well 1955 was one hell of a good year being born … That’s what we have in common… I celebrate my 57th birthday on july 26th, together with Sir Mick Jagger … Keep up the good job …

  • pmul June 20, 2012

Hi Luka, just want to thank you for a fantastic day on Saturday, I was one of the people who went on “the Ride” with you. Really enjoyed the cycle into town and to see you perform 3 times in one day was brilliant! (We missed the fade st gig unfortunately).
I am absorbing all the songs on the new album and I am loving it, love the layers of different sounds and the beautiful vocal harmonies, congratulations. Trish X

  • Cheesecurds June 15, 2012

Been listening since I came across your Amsterdam album. Great music, great lyrics, thank you for all the songs you have put out there! I wish I could be somewhere to see you live. Maybe someday. I only wish I was a good enough guitar player to be able to figure out how to play your songs would love to be able to sing some of these to friends and family :)

  • adrievdweegen June 7, 2012

    Dear Luka

The first time that I heard about you was on the belgian Tv in the latest Show in 2008.
We were so surprised that we went to see you in Turnhout.
After that we bought a lot of songs from you by I-Tunes.
Then we visted your concert in 2009 in Breda-Mezz Theater.
My son and his girlfriend gave me your album Riverside at christmas present.
The album is very importent for you and also for me, because they bought the album in Dublin, where my son and his girlfriend lived and workes there two years.
We visted your country 5 times and saw a lot of musea , buildings and other nice things in Dublin. We also visited the Wicklow mountains, Howth, Bray, Belfast, Derry, Fahan etc. We are impressed of your beautiful country and I wish that there will come a time that I can visit the westside of your country. It is so nice when you sing about your country and to know the nice places.
The third time that we visted your concert was in Eindhoven and there we bought your new album. It is a very good album. Now I have tree original albums and I hope you make a album again in the future.
It was a great evening in Eindhoven and the next time we see you in Tilburg in November. We already bought the tickets.
So we wish you a good summer and wish you a lot of fun and pleasure to do concerts .

Many greetings from Dora and Adrie v.d. Weegen.

  • Leelee June 7, 2012

Hoping you are thinking of an Aussie tour soon Luka. Would love to hear the new material live.

  • Vivienne June 5, 2012

Hi Luka. Great concert at Lumville House on Saturday night. I’ve been going to your concerts for more than a decade now and you’re sounding and performing better than ever. Would love another live album – a shame not to let people hear you who otherwise can’t make it to your gigs. By the way, fantastic orchestration on ‘This New Morning’ – can’t get ‘A seed was sown’ out of my head. Not sure if you’re a fan of Sinead O’Connor’s songwriting but you’re known for doing great covers and I think you’d do justice to her wonderful words. Have a good summer.

  • wolfman70joe June 2, 2012

I just purchased and downloaded This New Morning and I absolutely love the album! When I heard Dreams In America for the first time several years ago I was hooked on your music and have been listening to your music ever since. Keep up the good work.

  • kimberlyrada May 23, 2012

Just wanted to add to my previous comment that I DO know the song is called “Miracle Cure”. However, the word, forgiveness is so powerful….

  • kimberlyrada May 22, 2012

    Hi Luka,
Just wanted to say Happy Birthday on Wednesday! Yours is easy to remember as my own birthday is the 27th.
You are so much a part of the soundtrack of my life. You have seen me through everything from illness to divorce to discovering my soulmate. My husband, David, and I fell in love to your music and it remains a special part of our marriage. We even drove 9 hours to see you Live in Annapolis, Maryland and then drove 9 hours back. Not bad for middle agers. (We implore you to visit North Carolina soon!)
One very special thing I want you to know is that your song, “Forgiveness” changed my life. I mean it….literally. One day, in a more private forum, I would like to share the full story with you.
It feels important to me that you know.
Your words and music speak to my Soul. You have taught me not to be afraid of the light that shines within me. I can never repay you for putting yourself out there in your music for our enjoyment…our healing and our spiritual growth. Thank you.
    Peace ~ Kimberly

Hi Luka, I contacted you on the old website in 2008 asking if you’d mind if I used the web address http://www.acousticmotorbike.com as I was going cycling. I’ve spent 2.5 of the last 4 years cycling over 25,000 km around the world and I’ve just returned to Ireland to cycle around the coast before flying to Beijing and then cycling to Melbourne.

I’ve spent the last 9 months in Nepal where I got to know of an Irish funded Nepali based NGO who support street children. The NGO hail from Clonakilty and I’ll be starting my ride from there on 7th June. I know that you must get dozens of emails asking for your support, but I’m hoping the acoustic motorbike connection may lightly twist your arm ;o)

If you would like to make a small donation you can do so from my website or directly from the http://www.just-one.org site.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Luka:Your’ music your’ music has been such an inspiration to me, both artistically AND as a person simply trying to live a good and honorable, happy life. I’ve written about how your’ music has touched me (not a music review, more like a life review) I’ve thought about forwarding this link for months now, and now is the time. Here’s how your’ words have inspired words in one of your fans!

Congratulations on the new CD, Luka. Absolutely love it. Hope to see you about Derry/Donegal before too long. Maybe McGrory’s in Culdaff sometime? Keep well anyway…..and keep pedalling.

    Hi!
I must admit I am a bit disappointed to see that all stuff from the old website is gone: All the lyrics and all newsletters… Hope these will soon be added! Or make a link to archives from the old site.

I will really miss the easy way to check out the lyrics, so please…!

Got to be said review.. ..”this new morning” is just beautiful, dense guitar and instrumentals beautifully mixed and warm, haunting vocals and lyrics full of poetry and vivid images, fun and uplifting, sad yet hopeful, a real gourmet experience with something for every shade of hunger you might have. Very addictive and will grow on you with every listening. The next concerts sprinkled with these lovely songs will be extra special and it’s very much luka bloom and probably always was.. hope everyone enjoys this album as much as I am. Thank you for some more wonderful songs to learn
